IM THRILLED WITH MY NEW FIND

We were driving down the street and I spied this at a yard sale, that we almost drove right on by. The woman was asking 12 dollars but told me i could take it for 10 dollars......YES 10 DOLLARS!!!!, how could i refuse that deal. It is in good shape, and the inside of the doors are wicker. I have no idea how old this is or what it was originally used for. I have visions of it being painted in a nice cream color and new hardware. I also think it would make a nice tv stand. Before i put my hands on it, i am open to ideas. Im so excited i can hardly wait to bring it into the house.

My guess is it WAS originally a TV stand/entertainment center, so you are RIGHT ON TRACT with your planned usage of it.

Janet,

This is an incredible find. I think it would be great in cream. If you like distressing on the edges, that would be pretty too.

Look forward to seeing what you decide to do.

You gals and your yard sales, I never find anything good at them. I love the peice and look forward to seeing what you do with it. You said on my blog that you did not have a fireplace...You can always just put a mantel on the wall. That is what I did in my diningroom. thanks for the sweet comment.

Nice cabinet, Janet :-)

I actually really like the hardware. I think you should re-use it after you paint the cabinet. It's pretty and unique and gives the piece character.

Jackson enjoyed his birthday burger :-) Next birthday is Squirt on Tuesday :-)

What a great find you gotta love those;) Hugs French

You should leave the hardware as is. If you change to a trendy handle/knob it will lose the charcter.
The front of the doors look like harlequin design veneer...
I am partial to cream painted pieces :)

This is a great piece of furniture! For only $10.00...amazing! I think it would look great white (with glaze) or black. And new hardware would be a great finishing touch. Yeah for you!

Traci

Oh wow, great find! Will you be able to retain the diamond pattern on the front? I love your idea of going with a cream color, but I agree with those that vote to keep the hardware- I think it's so out it's in again!
Thanks for your stopping by my blog Monday!

Don't you just love "drive by" finds like this? And what a great price!

It is very cool...love the wicker inside. It has such good storage. Would even be good in a bathroom or bedroom.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

What a fun piece to work with!
I would paint it in a cream color, but tape off the diamond pattern on the doors and fill them in with a deeper shade of cream or tan. Can't wait to see what you decide.
