Just Couldnt Resist...Too Cute

With this forever changing livingroom of mine, i think i finally realized what i love, want and need from this room..............SERENE, CALM AND PEACEFUL. Escpecially with the ongoing stress that lurks under this roof. I think i knew this all along, but just kept fighting it, i love red, orange or other vibrante colors but when i use them, they dont work for me emotionally...does that make sense? When i add soft and pretty, like the flowers below, i feel so relaxed. Now that being said, i like to mix soft and pretty with medium to dark peices of furniture, or sephia pictures framed in black and white frames, pehaps it may be deemed wrong in the design world, but it feels right in my world and i have decided that its okay. Our sofa is a moss green color, so i intend to add soft blues, greens and creams as those colors make me laugh, and of course my zebra print stool will be in the mix. So i saw these candle holders and candles, i just couldnt resist....love the colors and gotta love the bird. I havent removed the wrapper yet and still need to decide where im putting them, but will post when they are in their new home.
These are my thoughts for the day
Happy Blogging

I agree about the calm colors . I think I'll spot of color here and there . My couch is moss green also . My liveing room is a pottery rose . It's a relaxing color with my lace curtins.I want to paint my wood work cream this summer with a real good primer . Some thing yellowish is bleeding through . That's an old home for you . My bed rooms are a light pinkish peach . Very relaxing .

Hey Janet...I have always loved darker colors but lately I am drawn to the softer more neutral colors..I have always felt that a person should be true to their hearts and surround themselves with the things that they truly love...color being a big part of that! Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Those definitely give a peaceful and serene feeling...makes perfect sense to me! You must surround yourself with that which soothes and comforts you and that which you find beautiful!
Have a happy weekend!

Janet, you new candels and that little bird are just so pretty. I love the vibrant colors also, but I just redid my room with the soft blue/green colors. They really are soothing. Thanks so much for stopping by and your gracious comments on my Mini-Kitchen remodel. That was very kind and I do appreciate the visit. Hugs, Marty

I agree with you about colors, you have to go with what works for you. Maybe add accents of those more "exciting" colors.
Thanks for visiting my blog today and joining me on my bedroom transformation.
