55 DOLLAR MAKEOVER...CABINET PAINTED!!!

original hardware, i thought it was pretty

I HAVE WORKED ON THIS TV NOOK FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS AND AFTER MANY DIFFERENT STANDS AND TRIES, IT JUST NEVER FELT RIGHT. THEN I HAD A VISION ON HOW I WANTED IT TO LOOK, I STUCK WITH MY VISION AND FOR ONCE I FEEL I WAS SUCCESSFUL IN MAKING MY TV NOOK A PRETTY AREA. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS NOT THE FIRST AREA YOU SEE WHEN ENTERING THE ROOM, IT IS A FOCAL POINT FROM MOST SEATING IN THE ROOM. AFTER SEEING SILVIA USING WALL PAPER TO DO A FEATURE WALL, I KNEW I HAD TO PAPER AN ACCENT WALL. I COULD'NT DO SOMETHING BOLD OR BUSY WITH THE TV IN FRONT AS I FEEL IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO DISTRACTING, IM HAPPY WITH MY PAPER CHOICE, HARD TO SEE IN PICTURES BUT IT HAS THREE COLORS, GREY, CREAM AND GOLDISH YELLOW TREES. IM STILL DECIDING WHETHER I NEED SOMETHING ABOVE THE TV AND I HAVE MANY IDEAS WHIRLING IN MY HEAD FOR THE INSET OF THE DOORS. THE CABINET WAS PAINTED IN A COLOR NAMED SWISS COFFEE. EVENTUALLY THE CLOCK YOU SEE ON THE WALL OVER FROM THE TV WILL BE REPLACED WITH A LARGER ONE, ITS A TAD UNDERSIZED. OVER ALL IM THRILLED WITH HOW EVERYTHING HAS TURNED OUT. THANKS FOR LOOKING!

I like it too.

However - - - I'm no expert because I liked it with the whole hutch look going on too!!!

Maybe I better stick to my little science posts and humor posts and not try to join the whole decorating circle!!!

Hehehehehehehehe

Isn't it amazing how one little thing can make such a difference? Your cabinet looks great!

About the drop cloth drapes, no, I didn't wash them. After I sewed the hem on the bottom, I pressed the seams open and ironed the whole thing. They could probably go up without ironing, but I thought they looked better pressed.

Have a wonderful week!

it looks amazing! you did a great job all around!
I know how you feel with all the busy in your life-it is the same around here. I have officially added picking and dropping the kids at school...there is a guy that has tried to abduct 4 different kids in the area....and he changes vehicles...I'm not taking any chances at losing my mess makers..lol
It has been really cold here...we have frost warnings every night last week and this week is the same. The stress from this...and the snowfall warnings (yes I said snow) has caused me to have a need to keep busy...so I have been spring cleaning like a demon! Today I mowed the lawn, and pulled an already sore hip out of place...and tonight I tackle the filthiest room in the house...my 8 year old daughters room....I am just exhausted...and thinking of talking myself out of the room cleaning until tomorrow...but that will give her another day to collect more mess!
I hope you have a wonderful week...you busy girl!

Looks great, Janet :-) Good to see that you kept the original door hardware :-)

I would leave it just as it is -- no more playing around with it!! And don't put anything on the wall above the the TV either!! :-)

What a great transformation -- and yes, it is perfect -- sometimes we know what we want but it takes a while to achieve it. It's beautiful.
