Do you have a get away spot?

When life gets crazy and we (dh and I) just need to get away from all the craziness, this is the spot we retreat to, its only a few minutes from our home. We just sit in the car staring out into the water, sometimes we will hardly even talk, other times we will have a much needed uninterupted chat or we will sit here and enjoy a burger. No phones, no tv, no doorbell, and no teenagers...............oh how peaceful!!!! can't you just feel the serentity? What do you like to do when you need some peace?

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

hugs

Janet,
What a neat thing for you and your DH to do! We have woods in our backyard and sit on our deck and vacation without leaving home.

Ahhhhhh! I can't get away! :0) Kidding! When I try to get away there are 5 little people running down the street following me...My kids! Ha! Yes, we have a getaway place too...isn't it nice to just be in a place that drowns out the rest of life for a few moments?
You have a great spot! Enjoy!

What a great spot to unwind, so pretty!

I wanted to come by and tell you how much I appreciated your comment on my living room post. Your kindness meant so much to me! When I started my blog, I wasn't sure anyone would even want to read it, so to hear that other people are being inspired from it is just amazing to me. Thank you. :)

And I don't see why you couldn't go gray with the mossy couch! I think the trick is going to be the right shade. That was the problem we had, a lot of the grays were too cool for our couches. Do you have a Benjamin Moore by you? Ours has a color specialist you can go talk to for free. If yours does, you could bring one of your couch pillows in and they can steer you in the right direction. They even have extra large paint chips instead of those tiny ones to hold up which is really helpful!

That is a great spot! And great that you know when you need a break. My spot is anywhere I can watch people going by. Outdoors is ideal.

Hi Janet...

Just read the sweet note that you left for me on my button cloche and vignette post...so happy that you came by and thank you for your sweet compliments!!!

Ohhh...my friend, life has been so busy for me the last couple of months...your getaway spot looks glorious and serene! I'm looking forward to our trip to Texas...we're leaving tomorrow! I will get to see my folks, sister, and all three of my girls and all ten grandchildren! I'm so anxious that I'm beside myself! Hehe! Anyway, we usually think of vacation as a "getaway" but I'm thinking that this one is going to really keep me hopping! Hehe!

Well my friend, I missed your last post so of course I had to check it out! Girl, that's such a fabulous transformation...I love it! Your television cabinet turned out fabulous! Ohhh...and I love, love, LOVE your choice of wallpaper!!! I love the colors and pattern...so very pretty and just perfect for that wall!!! Well done, Sweetie!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

I love that ya'll have a spot to get away at. I was reading your simple post and in doing so I almost felt some weight lifted off of my shoulders, just because it sounded so relaxing, calm and lovely to do just that; sit and star at the water. No words need to be spoken, no sounds, no rushing, no worries; wow, that sounds so nice! When I first visited your page I loved how you have your header as an open invited bench for visitors to sit, rest, and enjoy you 'home' (blog) with you. How very lovely! Okay, silly question here....what does 'dh' stand for? I have seen those two little words written several times here and there and I'm dumbfounded by them. I can only assumed the 'H' stands for husband???? Or not? Hmmmmm? Anywho, you have a very lovely blog Janet. So very tranquil and ever so inviting! I'll come again to sit on your bench for awhile!

Hugs,
Sarah
